Role Summary
We are seeking a Fabricator to join our workshop team to support the fabrication, assembly, and repair of steel components and light mechanical items used in our dewatering and cathodic protection projects. The ideal candidate is practical, safety-oriented, and able to deliver accurate fabrication work under daily production requirements.
1) Fabrication & Assembly
• Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings/sketches and measurements.
• Fabricate and assemble steel frames, brackets, supports, skid bases, clamps, and site-use accessories.
• Perform cutting, fitting, drilling, grinding, and finishing to required tolerances.
• Support fabrication of pipe spools and fittings (as applicable to workshop scope).
2) Welding & Finishing (If Applicable)
• Execute welding works (SMAW/MMA, MIG, or TIG depending on workshop capability and project requirements).
• Ensure proper weld quality, alignment, and finishing; repair defects when identified.
• Perform surface preparation as required (cleaning, grinding, basic coating preparation).
3) Repair & Maintenance Support
• Repair and modify workshop-fabricated items returning from site (skids, brackets, clamps, steel structures).
• Assist with light mechanical works as required (mounting supports, minor adjustments for pumps/generators skids, guards).
4) Quality and Safety
• Ensure fabricated items meet required dimensions and workshop quality standards before release to site.
• Use tools and machinery safely (cutting machines, grinders, drills, welding sets).
• Maintain good housekeeping, material storage discipline, and tool accountability.
• Follow PPE and workshop safety procedures at all times.
• 1–3 years experience in workshop fabrication is preferred (steel fabrication and/or mechanical workshop).
• Candidates with strong hands-on skills and willingness to learn may be considered.
Technical Skills
• Ability to use common workshop tools and machines (cutting, grinding, drilling, measuring).
• Welding ability is a strong advantage (certification is preferred but not mandatory if skills are demonstrated).
• Ability to follow measurements accurately and work to practical tolerances.
Soft Skills
• Reliability, discipline, and ability to work within daily production priorities.
• Teamwork and clear communication with workshop supervisors and site teams.
Languages
• Basic English communication is preferred; Arabic is an advantage.
