Full-time
Company: Al Shallalat Well Drilling Est. (UAE)
Scope of Services: Water well drilling, dewatering wells, cathodic protection wells, and related drilling services.
Role Summary
We are seeking a practical and organized Office & Project Coordination Engineer to support our drilling and dewatering operations by managing day-to-day engineering office work and providing technical and administrative supervision of site activities from the office, with site visits as required. This position is well-suited for an engineer with early-career experience who is ready to grow into a cross-functional coordination role.
1) Office-Based Project & Operations Management
• Prepare and maintain project documentation: method statements, material submittals, checklists, and internal tracking sheets.
• Coordinate daily/weekly work plans with rig supervisors: rig allocation, manpower planning, and activity sequencing.
• Monitor progress against targets (depths, quantities, productivity), and escalate constraints early (fuel, water, casing, consumables, spare parts).
• Support commercial administration: basic measurement sheets, progress summaries, and documentation required for invoicing.
2) Technical Coordination & Remote Site Oversight
• Review and consolidate Daily Drilling Reports (DDR) and borehole logs submitted by site teams; ensure completeness and consistency (depth, diameter, lithology, materials usage).
• Track quality requirements for well construction (casings/screens/gravel pack), development, and pumping test documentation, ensuring records are available for client/consultant review.
• Coordinate as-built information (coordinates, chainage references, well IDs) and prepare/update simple AutoCAD as-built markups when required.
3) Logistics, Procurement Support, and Vendor Coordination
• Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of drilling essentials (bentonite/polymers, fuel, casing/screen materials, gravel pack, compressors/mud pump spares).
• Liaise with suppliers, transport, and subcontractors to prevent downtime and maintain continuity of operations.
4) Compliance, Document Control, and HSE Administration
• Maintain a structured document control system for each project (permits, approvals, DDRs, test records, as-builts, correspondence).
• Support HSE compliance administration: toolbox talk records, training logs, equipment certificates, and incident/near-miss reporting, consistent with the company’s HSE commitment.
• Coordinate environmental documentation where applicable (e.g., disposal records, groundwater protection documentation) in alignment with applicable municipal requirements.
5) Stakeholder Coordination (Client / Consultant / Authorities)
• Serve as an office focal point for client communications: routine updates, progress reporting, and document submissions.
• Support coordination with relevant authorities when needed (e.g., approvals and documentation workflows).
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Mining Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 0–8 years of experience is acceptable (experience in drilling/dewatering is an advantage).
• Prior exposure to any of the following is beneficial: water wells, dewatering, cathodic protection drilling, geotechnical drilling, or construction site coordination.
Technical Skills
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (logs, trackers, summaries).
• Basic AutoCAD.
• Working understanding (or strong willingness to learn) drilling terminology, borehole logging basics, and well construction documentation.
Languages
• Fluent English (mandatory).
• Arabic is an advantage.
Soft Skills
• High organization, reliability, and strong follow-through.
• Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams in a small-company environment.
• Confident communication with site teams while maintaining professional documentation standards.
• Willingness to attend site periodically as operational needs require.
