As a Structural Engineer you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for buildings and other structures. You will work closely with architects, project managers, and other engineers to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations. This position requires both technical expertise and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct structural analysis using advanced software tools to evaluate the integrity of designs.
Develop detailed design specifications for various structural components including beams, columns, foundations, and retaining walls.
Prepare technical reports and documentation for project proposals.
Collaborate with architects to integrate structural designs into overall building plans.
Review construction drawings for accuracy and compliance with design specifications.
Perform site inspections during construction phases to ensure adherence to design standards.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering within the construction industry.
Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of building codes (e.g., AISC, ACI) and safety regulations.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
